Our Team
Jeffrey Brookfield, Owner | General Manager, extension 100
Jeff has a background in real estate development and management, urban planning and operations.
He spent six years providing land use planning services to many public and private-sector clients across Ontario and 15 years in planning, operations and senior management roles with a Canadian seaport. In his later capacity, he took leadership roles in real estate management and maintenance, engineering, business development, port planning, port security and management of a marina. He also acted as HarbourMaster. During this period, Jeff was able to gain a full understanding of building construction and maintenance issues and developing practical solutions to satisfy the needs of the customer and business.
Jeff enjoys educating home buyers through the home inspection process. In addition to his home inspection training, he also has a certificate in Indoor Air Quality and Housing Durability and has been trained in home energy evaluations. He is also certified by the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) to conduct Radon measurement in homes.
Jeff is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations, business development and customer relationship management of AmeriSpec. Jeff’s goal is to ensure that customer expectations are always exceeded.
He has an honours degree in Urban Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Guelph and a certificate through the Schulich Executive Program, York University.
Ian Frost, Home Inspector, extension 102
Ian is a Certified Home Inspector through AmeriSpec and our most senior home inspector, performing home inspections in the area for 13 years. During this period he has performed approximately 6,000 home and building inspections, more than most individual home inspectors in Canada and the United States.
Prior to becoming a home inspector, Ian was involved in various aspects of residential and commercial building construction including roofing, irrigation systems and retrofit/renovations. Ian is responsible internally for researching and ensuring that technical changes and positions related to home/building inspection are communicated to other home inspectors in the firm and implemented through development of technical information memorandums related to the various aspects of building components and issues.
Denise Larocque, B.Sc.(Eng), Registered Home Inspector and National Certificate Holder, Home Inspector | ecoEnergy Advisor, extension 104
Denise has a degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph and has been with AmeriSpec since 2001. She is a Certified Inspector through AmeriSpec, a Registered Home Inspector (RHI) with the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors (OAHI) and a National Certificate Holder (NCH).
Denise has acquired a special skill of presenting her verbal report in a way that puts the clients and real estate professionals at ease. Denise has also taken on the role of addressing more complicated technical issues specifically related to home and building inspections. She is also responsible for the development and writing of AmeriSpec of Canada’s Ask the Inspector series that is distributed across Canada and featured in various press releases including Real Estate Magazine (REM).
Chris Harper, Home Inspector
Chris conducts home inspections primarily in the Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo and Guelph area. Based on his patience and eye for detail he has quickly become one of the favourite inspectors of homebuyers in the area.
Matthew Thomson, Home Energy Advisor, extension 105
Matt Thomson is one of our newest and most energetic Home Energy Advisors. Matt recently graduated from Conestoga College with a diploma in Architectural Construction.
He has a keen interest in energy conservation and architecture and believes strongly in sustainable living.
Matt's objective is to add value to the ecoEnergy program and assist homeowners in achieving their energy use goals through the program and grants offered by Natural Resources Canada and managed by AmeriSpec.
Matt has also taken continuing education in Radon Testing and Infrared Thermography. When not serving our customers, Matt enjoys playing in a band and painting.
Marita Northmore, Office Administrator, extension 101
Marita is the friendly voice you hear when you call our offices. However she is more than just a voice, she is our office manager; the heart that keeps our entire business running smoothly and efficiently. She is responsible for customer service, human resources, accounting, scheduling and all of the other administrative activities required by a small business. Marita is a graduate from the University of Western Ontario and has obtained her Teaching Certificate. Marita is very friendly and accommodating and is there to help you in any way she can!
Trish Brookfield, Marketing Coordinator, extension 107
Trish provides support to our marketing and administration team. Trish has a degree in Horticulture and continues to be passionate over plants and the "green" environment.
When she's not helping to raise her family, she spent the last 25 years in service businesses. You will find Trish helping out at trade shows and other public events.
